Observations:
Small Works by Linda Anderson
December 19, 2003 - January 31,
2004
"I study animals a lot,
wondering what they do when were not looking. Its
a visual thought process with me as the voyeur often going with
say, a bear for a day or two. The thoughts start with the animal
foraging, sleeping or hunting. Then, and I dont know why
this happens, but somehow the element of danger comes into these
picturesvisually. Thats when the mental film stops
and theres my paintingas with the bear in the berry
patch or the chicken being charmed by a snake. Things that surely
happen; were just not there to see. These animals are real
to me. My intention is not to show them in embarrassing or dangerous
situations, but to capture their pure and powerful spirits."
