In the mid 70s, Willem Volkerz was ahead of his time.

His collection is a rare look at the earliest, purest examples by self-taught artists who were then unknown and are today collected by the finest museums - Nellie Mae Rowe, Howard Finster, Sara Mary Taylor, Mary T. Smith, Lonnie Holley, Carlton Garrett, Lanier Meadows, Ned Cartledge and others. These master works are available for sale for the first time.
