In his first solo show in Atlanta since his relocation to NYC, J Ivcevich expands on his trademark techniques of bonding photographic imagery and painting through layers of resin. The exhibition includes a full scale installation, representing a return to the original series of paintings that started his career. The juxtaposition of pastoral scenery and urban imagery of the photo-based work recalls Ivcevich's home environments from his childhood in Indiana to his present day life in industrial Brooklyn. The artist's new work addresses his search for a peculiarbeauty, serenity, and profoundness in otherwise overlooked and mundane everyday surroundings.
